AG Schimel Applauds Local, State, and Federal Agents for Major Heroin, Methamphetamine, and Cocaine Bust
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Today, the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) partnered with local and federal law enforcement and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Wisconsin to apprehend 18 individuals in southeastern Wisconsin in a long-term federal drug and money laundering investigation based out of Milwaukee. The federal investigation has led to the seizure of multiple kilograms of cocaine and methamphetamine and the seizure of more than $800,000 in United States currency.
Attorney General Brad Schimel joined a coalition of law enforcement agencies at a press conference in Milwaukee this afternoon, where he congratulated DCI agents and partner agencies on the success of the investigation:
“Disrupting the supply of dangerous drugs into our communities is an essential part of the fight against the nation’s drug epidemic,” said Attorney General Schimel. “Today’s bust deserves praise and attention, but this is nothing out of the ordinary. The Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigation actively assists local law enforcement agencies with the apprehension of drug dealers and seizure of harmful drugs like heroin and meth every day.”
