ONLINE - The Office of Crime Victim Services Online Introductory Training for Victim Service Providers

This online training is no longer being offered. We are in the process of updating the grant award documents.

To fulfill the OCVS training requirement detailed in award contracts, all OCVS subrecipients must either attend an online or in-person Office of Crime Victim Services Introductory Training for Victim Service Providers (ITVSP), watch three 10-minute videos and one 30-minute module, and complete a post-test.

ITVSP is offered four (4) times per year in collaboration with the Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault (WCASA), Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy School (SAVAS) training. March 15th will be our first training session in 2024 and will be held virtually. The next session is Friday, July 29th in-person. The other two (2) 2024 training dates will be scheduled soon. Registration for March 15th ITVSP training can be found here: https://wisdoj.eventsair.com/march-2024-ocvs-itvsp

We also recommend that all new advocates participate in the Wisconsin Coalition Against Sexual Assault (WCASA), Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy School (SAVAS) training. This training is provided by WCASA and addresses the basics of being a victim advocate — answering the crisis line, providing individual and systems advocacy, and providing outreach in your community. Participants will have opportunities to practice the skills necessary to provide comprehensive advocacy for victims. SAVAS will run from 9 am - 11 am and 1 pm - 3 pm Tuesday through Thursday, March 5-7 and 12-14. March 2024 Sexual Assault Victim Advocacy School (SAVAS) Registration is open. Click here to learn more
