ICAC Victim Services

IF YOU ARE IN DANGER OR NEED IMMEDIATE ASSISTANCE, PLEASE CALL 911.

The Wisconsin Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force has specialized ICAC Victim Services personnel available to assist victims of technology-facilitated crimes against children.

According to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, “not only do images and videos of [Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)] document victims’ exploitation and abuse, but when these files are shared across the internet, child victims suffer re-victimization each time the image of their sexual abuse is viewed. In a recent survey led by the Canadian Centre for Child Protection, 67% of CSAM survivors said the distribution of their images impacts them differently than the hands-on abuse they suffered because the distribution never ends and the images are permanent.”

The ICAC Victim Services team was formed in 2020 to help victims recover and to address these concerns about re-victimization. The team is made up of civilians who work with victims of technology-facilitated crimes against children in Wisconsin to offer support, crisis counseling, and information and referrals to victims, to include assisting with removal of images from the Internet.

If you need resources or support, please contact our ICAC Victim Services team at ICACServices@doj.state.wi.us.
