Officer Involved Death in Madison, Wis.

MADISON, Wis. – The Wisconsin Department of Justice (DOJ) Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) is investigating an officer involved death (OID) in the city of Madison, Wis. that occurred on the evening of Sunday, October 27, 2019.

 

Madison Police Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 6500 block of Raymond Road. Authorities performed lifesaving measures and the subject was transported to University Hospital. The subject later succumbed to injuries.

 

No officers were injured during the incident.

 

DCI is leading this investigation, and is assisted by Wisconsin State Patrol, Wisconsin State Crime Lab, and Madison Police Department. DOJ Office of Crime Victim Services is also providing services. All involved law enforcement are fully cooperating with DCI during this investigation.

 

DCI is continuing to collect evidence and determine the facts of this incident and will turn over investigative reports to a local district attorney’s office when the investigation concludes.
