Columbia County Woman Sentenced on Drug and Theft Charges

MADISON — Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen has announced that Columbia County resident Danielle Pionke appeared today in Dodge County Circuit Court before the Honorable Steven G. Bauer, where Pionke pleaded no contest to Misdemeanor Theft as a party to a crime and Possession of Tetrahydrocannabinols (marijuana).  A charge of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia was dismissed but read-in.  Judge Bauer followed the parties’ joint recommendation and placed the defendant on probation for eighteen months.

At today’s hearing, Pionke agreed that the facts in the criminal complaint and from the preliminary hearing formed a factual basis for her plea.  According to the criminal complaint, Pionke and her boyfriend stole and pawned property belonging to Pionke’s mother between August 23, 2013, and December 15, 2013.  Additionally, Pionke and her boyfriend were found to be in possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia when they were contacted by law enforcement on January 13, 2014.

This matter was investigated by the Columbia County Sheriff’s Department.  Victim services were provided by the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office.  The state was represented by Assistant Attorney General Annie Jay. A copy of the complaint is available here.
