Bond Set at Two-Million Dollars for Kristopher Torgerson

MADISON — The Wisconsin Department of Justice has announced that Kristopher Torgerson, charged with First Degree Intentional Homicide, Attempted Armed Robbery as a repeater, and Hiding a Corpse as a repeater, made an initial appearance today in Branch 1 of the Marathon County Courts before the Honorable Jill Falstad.  After Judge Falstad advised the defendant of the charges, the defendant waived the time limits for a preliminary hearing and based upon that waiver, the court scheduled a preliminary hearing for November 25, 2014 at 10:30 a.m.  The court set bond in the amount of two-million dollars.

These charges relate to the disappearance of a woman on October 10, 2010, from her apartment located in the City of Wausau.  This case was investigated by the Wausau Police Department.  Victim services are being provided by the Marathon County District Attorney’s office victim witness office.  The State is being represented by Assistant Attorney General Richard J. Dufour.
