ATTORNEY GENERAL J.B. VAN HOLLEN JOINS 16 OTHER STATES IN CHALLENGE TO PRESIDENT’S EXECUTIVE ACTION ON IMMIGRATION

MADISON — Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen today joined, on behalf of the State of Wisconsin and at the request of Governor Scott Walker, a multistate challenge to President Obama’s Deferred Action policy related to immigration and the treatment, under law, of illegal aliens.

“It is clear that the President has exceeded his authority and that this important matter should be reviewed by the courts,” Attorney General Van Hollen said.

Seventeen states joined today’s challenge being brought in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.  A copy of the complaint is available here.
