Chemistry Section

 

The primary function of the Chemistry Section is to analyze items of evidence in order to determine the presence or absence of a controlled substance. At the WSCLB the Chemistry Section consists of three units: Toxicology, Controlled Substance, and Trace (Milwaukee).

Controlled Substance

Analyze evidence for the presence (or absence) of controlled substances as defined in the Unit Controlled Substance Act, Chapter 961.

Forensic Toxicology

Analyze bodily fluids or tissue for alcohol, controlled substances, and occasionally poisons.  

Trace Evidence

Analyze broad spectrum of physical evidence or substances for identification or comparison purposes.
