Advanced Forensic Interview Training

The Advanced Forensic Interview Training (FIT) is a 2.5 day training sponsored by the Wisconsin Department of Justice - Children's Justice Act.

 

Participants will evaluate the strengths and weaknesses of their interviewing style. Based on this knowledge they will develop more advanced skills in the use of the Wisconsin Forensic Interview Guidelines (WI-FIG). Participants will also become familiar with the prosecutor's perspective of courtroom preparation and how to best meet defense arguments.

 

This training is intended for members of a multidisciplinary team investigating alleged cases of child maltreatment.

 

PLEASE NOTE: This training is available via scholarship only. There are 10 spots available for this program. Scholarship covers lodging, registration and materials; you will be responsible for mileage and meals. Your registration will be confirmed or denied the week of 10/16.

 

Please only apply if:
-You have completed the 2 1/2 day Basic Forensic Interview Training on the new Wisconsin Forensic Interview Guidelines
-You are one of your jurisdiction's primary child forensic interviewers who video-records interviews
-You are willing to work hard and be challenged
-You have an eligible replacement (approved by your agency) attend this training in the event you are able to come.
