2014 AMBER Alert Poster Contest
On May 21, 2014, Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced the winner of the 2014 Wisconsin Missing Children’s Day poster competition as Kloe Soderberg, a fifth grade student at St. Joseph Catholic Academy in Kenosha, where she was recognized during a ceremony.
Attorney General Van Hollen, along with Principal Kerstin Santarelli, Academy President Robert Freund, teachers, students, Kenosha Mayor Keith G. Bosman and members of local law enforcement joined Kloe and her family as she accepted the award certificate and framed poster. Kloe also received a Barnes & Noble gift certificate.
The Department of Justice (DOJ) also provided each student at St. Joseph Catholic Academy with a Child Identification Kit as well as child safety and Internet safety information. Wisconsin's Clearinghouse for Missing & Exploited Children & Adults develops and coordinates the process for the statewide poster competition. Each state's Missing Children Clearinghouse submits the single winning state poster to the U.S. Department of Justice for final judging. One national poster contest winner is selected for a trip to Washington, DC, to attend the annual National Missing Children's Day Ceremony and to accept a certificate and U.S. savings bond.
