Special Agents Partner with the West Bend Police Department and Washington County Sheriff's Office in Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Operation

Sean T. Benson, of West Bend, Charged with 11 Counts of Possession of Child Pornography


MADISON — On Tuesday, February 4, 2014, a criminal complaint was filed against Sean T. Benson, of 619 Imperial Court in West Bend, charging him with 11 Counts of Possession of Child Pornography, a felony.  A hearing in this matter is scheduled for February 24, 2014, at 1:30 pm in Washington County.


According to the Criminal Complaint, on Friday, January 24, 2014, special agents with the Department of Justice – Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI), with assistance from officers with the West Bend Police Department, executed a search warrant at the defendant’s residence, located at 619 Imperial Court in the City of West Bend.  An on-scene forensic preview by a DCI analyst of a cellular telephone belonging to Benson uncovered ten images and one video consistent with child pornography, according to the complaint.  After having been advised by investigators of the purpose of the search warrant, Benson stated to investigators, “It’s me. It’s all on my phone. I did it,” according to the complaint.  In an interview with agents, Benson admitted to viewing and downloading child pornography, according to the criminal complaint.


The West Bend Police Department is a member of Wisconsin's ICAC Task Force.  Questions concerning this case should be directed to the Washington County District Attorney's Office.  A defendant enjoys the presumption of innocence.  The prosecution must prove its allegations at trial beyond a reasonable doubt.
