Attorney General Van Hollen to Deliver Remarks at Treatment Alternatives and Diversion (TAD) Symposium

MADISON — Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen is pleased to join Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm, Wisconsin Department of Corrections Secretary Edward Wall, Director of State Courts Office Director John Voelker, and State Representative Garey Bies for the symposium, “Treatment Alternatives and Diversion -- Effective Criminal Justice Reform Through Research-Based Practices,” being held at The Madison Concourse Hotel on August 23, 2013, from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Attorney General Van Hollen’s remarks begin at 12:45 pm.


“I’m pleased to join this group of distinguished stakeholders to talk about enforcing the law in ways that will promote rehabilitation, make good use of public funds, and increase public safety,” Attorney General Van Hollen said.

Faculty presenting at this symposium will discuss how TAD was implemented, lessons learned, and ways to allow for the expansion of the positive impacts of these pretrial justice projects throughout Wisconsin. Speakers also will present the building blocks counties and tribes statewide can use in their efforts to keep communities safe through the more effective use of resources.
