Attorney General Van Hollen Meets With Chippewa County Leaders At Law Enforcement Roundtable Hosted By State Senator Pat Krietlow And State Representatives Scott Suder And Kristen Dexter

Menomonie - Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen met today with law enforcement leaders, elected officials, community leaders, judges, and public safety officials from throughout Chippewa County at a law enforcement roundtable hosted by State Senator Pat Kreitlow and State Representatives Scott Suder and Kristen Dexter.

"I would like to thank all the state legislators for organizing this successful roundtable. I am grateful, as well, to all of the participants for attending and taking part in the discussions. Every county and community in Wisconsin faces different public safety challenges," said Van Hollen. "Having the opportunity to listen to local law enforcement, community leaders and elected officials from Chippewa County lends itself to a meaningful discussion about how the Department of Justice and state government can better assist Chippewa County."

Topics discussed at the roundtable included cuts in public safety in the state budget, prescription drug use and abuse, concealed carry permits for retired law enforcement officers, prosecutor shortages and internet crimes against children.

"Protecting public safety is my priority and should be that of state government. Meetings like these help us do a better job," said Van Hollen.
