On behalf of the Oasis/LegalXML/Integrated Justice workgroup, the following materials are
presented as a proposal for a model arrest warrant document formatted in
XML.
XML Arrest Warrant
09/05/2002 Note: material below was published in September, 2001 and
has not been revised. Since then, considerable work has been done in
developing a standard justice XML dictionary.
It is expected that the dictionary will be published at http://www.it.ojp.gov.
An early version is at http://www.it.ojp.gov/global/standards/files/xml_data_defs-0.1.0.pdf.
The Georgia Tech Research Institute has proposed substantial revisions to the
dictionary that will be implemented by early 2003. These proposals can be
viewed at http://justicexml:justicegtri@justicexml.gtri.gatech.edu/jxdds/XML_Schemas.html.
The material below should be considered accurate in terms of general content,
and suggestive of the structure of a warrant document. The element names
and complex structures do not (yet) conform to the dictionary, but the
dictionary itself is a work in progress. Also, all the national standards
are now being defined as schema.
Materials:
The DTD for the XML Arrest
Warrant proposal contains explanatory material, notes on usage, and the
required structure for the data elements.
The OUTLINE for the XML Arrest
Warrant proposal presents a high-level view of the elements. This is
perhaps the best view to get an overall picture of how the data elements relate
to each other.
The ELEMENT LIST for the XML
Arrest Warrant is an alphabetic listing of the complex and simple data
element tag names. The complex elements have been printed in bold type.
A cross-reference to FBI field tags is included.
Please post comments and questions about these materials on the SEARCH
