Vehicle Information in a VGTOF Record

Information may be entered in a Group Member record about vehicles subject to the following criteria:

•      The vehicle must have been observed to be in the possession of or driven by a specific record subject or by some group member who would separately meet the criteria for entry in the GMC.

•      Vehicle information about a single, particular vehicle may be entered in more than one GMC record by the same agency. Vehicle information which is part of a GMC record will be searched by any Vehicle File inquiry, assuming that either license (and accompanying fields) or VIN is entered in the record.

•      Entry with Vehicle Year, Vehicle Make, Vehicle Model, Vehicle Style, and/or Vehicle Color, without either License or VIN is permitted. Though not searchable on-line without License or VIN, this information will be returned as part of a response.

Mere knowledge or verification with the appropriate department of motor vehicles that a vehicle and/or license plate is registered to the missing person does not meet the criteria for entry as a part of the
