Types of Information

The general guideline to query a record is to use all the available data. Due to the unique aspects of the DNR files, a response from the DNR person files may be returned when a person is queried, or if the person is associated with vehicles registered through the DNR, vehicle information may also be included. The following types of information may be returned in a query of the DNR person files:

Licensing – information on all types of DNR issued licenses, i.e. deer hunting, fishing, turkey hunting, etc. This will include information on what types of license have been issued, license number, date and time of issuance, and issuing agent.

Citation – information on citations that the subject has been issued for violations of DNR rules/state laws, such as hunting out of season, keeping undersize/weight fish, etc.

Registration – information on vehicles the subject owns that are registered through the DNR, such as all-terrain vehicles, snowmobiles, and boats.
