1. Compare the computer results with the data submitted with the original query.
Look for transposition errors.
Look for near hits.
2. Check with the officer at the scene for additional information to clarify the hit.
Compare descriptors on the record with the subject in question.
3. Check with the ORI to verify the information.
Verify that the missing person entry is still active.
4. Obtain hardcopy for the ORI on disposition of case.
Get terminal reply from ORI that the warrant is active.
Confirm the agency/parent/guardian will retrieve the subject and approximately when.
5. Query all identifiable information in all positive hits not checked originally.
Anything that the subject has in his possession that has a name or identifying number.
