Information contained in the various NICB databases is contributed voluntarily by various partners.  As such, the information NICB provides is provided solely as an investigatory aid. Since these records are not validated, NICB does not guarantee or warrant their legitimacy.  Please use secondary verification before you take any enforcement action.  Entries are made to the NICB impound file by various agencies which are identified in the body of the record. The agency designated as “ORI” is responsible for maintaining the impound vehicle record (canceling, modifying, etc), once it is entered by the terminal agency, is responsible for accuracy and correct status of that record at all times.
