When offense codes ending in “99” are used, free text or easily understood abbreviations explaining or describing the offense must be placed in the Remarks Field.
Numerous other offense codes, when used, require a further explanation of the offense in remarks. These codes are indicated in the table by the use of the word “Remarks” following the literal translation of the offense code in the table. Whenever a general or generic offense code is used when more specific ones are available, an explanation of the offense must be included.
When the federal charge is unlawful flight, enter Code 4902 (Flight to Avoid) in the Offense Code Field. In the Remarks Field a description of the local charge, for example, UFAP Murder.
