Query Social Security Number or Owner & Type

An inquiry containing only Social Security Number (SOC), or Owner (OWN) and Type (TYP) may result in multiple responses if the victim’s loss involved numerous securities. It is also important to remember that the search of the Owner Field involves the soundex process used in the Missing Person and Wanted Person Files Name Field and therefore, multiple responses may result.

Inquiries relating to U.S. Treasury issues and currency should be made by type, serial number, and denomination. Issuer is not necessary.

An asterisk must not be used in the Serial Number (SER) Field in an inquiry.
