Property files

Agency must have an investigative report stating that the vehicle/part, article, boat/part, gun, security etc. was taken without consent of the owner or custodian of the property. Procedures require that all guns that are recovered by an agency and are not reported as stolen be entered into the Recovered Gun File. The weapon must remain in the possession of the entering agency or be readily available for examination as long as the record remains in the NCIC files.
