Serial numbers used in a group entry must be consecutive. Alpha characters may be present as a prefix, suffix, or intermixed with the numeric characters, however, they must remain constant throughout the sequence. The NCIC computer will accept group entries only when the rightmost numeric characters establish the consecutive sequence. This is illustrated in the following examples:
