$.K Incomplete Missing Person Record

At a specified time, the newly entered Missing Person records will be searched against a standard to determine if important identifying information is missing from the record. If such items are missing, the agency will be notified of the search through receipt of a $K “Incomplete Missing Person Record.”  The “$.K.” prefix uniquely identifies the message as an incomplete record advisory response to a search of missing persons and unidentified persons records.  The fields searched include blood type, dental characteristics, fingerprint classification, jewelry type, and scars/marks/tattoos. If the record has a date of entry older than 30 days and any of these fields are blank, a “.K” message identifying the blank fields will be transmitted to the entering agency.
