Generic Vehicle Make Codes

On occasion an agency may need to enter a stolen vehicle, but no code has been assigned to the manufacturer.  Generic vehicle make codes have been created, such as “ATV”, “TRLR”, “SNOW”, etc.  If a generic vehicle make code is used; remarks are required to list the name of the manufacturer.  The agency should also contact TSCC/NCIC to determine if a code should be assigned to the manufacturer.
