Entry will place a vehicle record in the Crime Information Bureau and NCIC Stolen Vehicle Files. The following are data items which are mandatory on vehicle entries: ORI, vehicle year, vehicle make, vehicle style, date of theft, originating agency case number, and one numeric identifier (VIN, owner applied number, or the full set of license plate information).
Entries of stolen license plates require the following information: ORI, date of theft, originating agency case number, the full set of license plate information (plate number, state, year of expiration and type) and number of plates stolen/missing.
