Must be at least 15 ½ years old. Expires 12 months from issue date. For convictions on or after 09/01/00; points are doubled on 2nd and subsequent convictions, except points are not doubled for convictions under Chapter 347. There is a 6-month suspension for accumulation of 12-30 points in 12 months. If more than 30 points, one year suspension. If conviction is prior to 09/01/00, +2 points are assessed for all second and subsequent convictions. Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) restrictions are printed on the permit.
