Cancel All Articles in a Group

Group record to be cancelled must be identified by two identifiers. It is recommended that the NCIC number and originating agency’s case number be used when the entire group record is to be cancelled. However, NCIC number and serial numbers in that order may be used. When serial numbers are utilized as an identifier, the lowest and highest serial numbers of the consecutively numbered group of items being cancelled must be used. Where there are any breaks in the consecutive order of the serial numbers, separate cancel messages must be sent.
