CIB indexes fingerprint images and sends them to a biometric server. These smaller “buckets” of left and right index fingerprints result in more rapid searches since queries are not searching against the entire ten-print database. When a quality image is acquired from the Fast ID device, the MorphoTouch encodes these images and send a 1- to -many matching transaction request to the biometric server. This transaction request contains the minutia of the 2 fingers acquired by the device, not the actual image, and a result is returned to the device.
