Arrest/Custody Submissions

General Information

The Crime Information Bureau utilizes one fingerprint card for the entire identification process.  This card serves as the source document for submission of inked fingerprint impressions and descriptive data to the CIB for persons ARRESTED OR TAKEN INTO CUSTODY, APPLICANTS, UNKNOWN DECEASED, or other IDENTIFICATION REQUESTS.  The individual completing the fingerprint card must clearly understand the reason that the fingerprints are being obtained and submitted.  (Prior to the completions and submission of any fingerprint card ask the question, "Why is this card being submitted?  Is this an arrest, custody, applicant, unknown deceased, identification request, or records check?")

The following sections detail the proper completion of the fingerprint card depending on the "type of transaction."
