Dispositions submitted to CIB that involve domestic abuse need to have that information included with the primary statute. Individuals committing a domestic abuse should have that information included with the original arrest and if that offense is amended or prosecuted to a new final offense, domestic abuse should be included with that charge. You must list the specific offense that was violated, i.e., battery, 940.19 (1), and the literal should include the fact that domestic abuse was involved.
Literal wording that indicates domestic abuse should be included with the offense literal. The following abbreviations can be used to indicate domestic abuse:
|
DV |
(Domestic Violence) |
|
DAC |
(Domestic Abuse Contact) |
|
DA |
(Domestic Abuse) |
|
DAI |
(Domestic Abuse Injunction) |

DVIP |
(Domestic Violence in Progress) |
CIB has created an in-house modifier statute that equals domestic abuse - 968. That statute may also be included with the primary offense statute.
