ATTORNEY GENERAL J.B. VAN HOLLEN TO HOST WORKING SUMMIT ON PUBLIC SAFETY

Van Hollen's Conference to Focus on Crimes Against Children, Drugs and Violence, and Disaster Management
MADISON - Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced today that he will be hosting a working summit on public safety in Wisconsin Dells later this month.
"Some of the most important issues facing law enforcement officials today are crimes against children and the impact of violence and drugs on our communities," Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said. "At this summit, we will address these issues and identify methods to improve the safety and well being of Wisconsin citizens."
The summit will be an interactive meeting where law enforcement officers in the field will be provided an opportunity to discuss their concerns, thoughts, and ideas with the Attorney General and Department of Justice staff. Topics will include Crimes Against Children in Our Age of Technology; The Ever Evolving Problem of Drugs and Violence; and the Use of the Incident Command System to Manage Disasters. The summit will also include a legal update on recent court decisions affecting law enforcement.
The Attorney General's Working Summit on Public Safety will be held on Thursday and Friday, October 18 and 19, in Wisconsin Dells. The event will be held at the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center.
