ATTORNEY GENERAL VAN HOLLEN MEETS WITH IOWA COUNTY LEADERS AT LAW ENFORCEMENT ROUNDTABLE HOSTED BY STATE SENATOR DALE SCHULTZ AND STATE REPRESENTATIVE STEVE HILGENBERG

DODGEVILLE - Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen met today with law enforcement leaders, elected officials, community leaders, judges, and public safety officials from throughout Iowa County at a law enforcement roundtable hosted by State Senator Dale Schultz and State Representative Steve Hilgenberg.
Topics discussed at the roundtable included: an update on the State Crime Lab, Internet Crimes Against Children, budgeting for public safety, elder abuse and drunk driving.
"I would like to extend a thank you to Senator Schultz and Representative Hilgenberg for organizing this successful roundtable. I would also like to thank all of the participants for attending and taking part in the discussions. Every county and community in Wisconsin faces different public safety challenges," said Van Hollen. "Having the opportunity to listen to local law enforcement, community leaders and elected officials from Iowa County lends itself to a meaningful dialogue as to how the Department of Justice and state government can better assist Iowa County."
"The roundtable helped us better understand each other's perspectives and challenges as we work to protect the safety of family members and keep our communities in Iowa County safe," said Senator Dale Schultz. "Credit goes to the caring local leaders that participated and to Attorney General Van Hollen for initiating the event."
"This was a great opportunity to gather feedback from local officials who deal with law enforcement issues on a day-to-day basis," Rep. Hilgenberg said. "In turn, this will give us a better understanding of local concerns and the measures the state can take to resolve them."
