Matthew R. Wegenke of Menomonie Arrested

MENOMONIE Special Agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justices Division of Criminal Investigation along with the Dunn County Sheriffs Department arrested Matthew R. Wegenke on 7 counts possession of child pornography.

On Tuesday, December 16, 2008 a search warrant was executed at the residence of Matthew R. Wegenke, located at E5346 750th Ave., Menomonie, WI. Pursuant to the search warrant, several items were seized by Sheriffs Deputies, including a computer hard drive.

DCI assisted in the search of the residence, forensic on scene preview analysis of computer media and assisted with the interview of Wegenke. A forensic preview of the hard drive revealed at least 7 images which were of child pornography. Wegenke admitted that he had downloaded the child pornography to the computer. Wegenke was arrested by Sheriffs Deputies and processed into the Dunn County Jail.

Questions concerning this case should be directed towards the Dunn County District Attorneys office.

A defendant enjoys the presumption of innocence. The prosecution must prove its allegations at trial beyond a reasonable doubt.
