Joel S. Schielzeth of Stoughton Arrested

Madison Special Agents from the Wisconsin Department of Justices Division of Criminal Investigation along with the Stoughton Police Department arrested Joel S. Schielzeth on one count of Exposing a Child to Harmful Material.

On November 14, 2008, the Wisconsin Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). According to the report, a fourteen year old female from California had been in an online relationship with a twenty-nine year old male from Wisconsin, subsequently identified as Joel S. Schielzeth.

The fourteen year olds mother turned over to the Santa Cruz County (California) Sheriffs Department two computers used by her daughter. Sexually explicit chat between her daughter and Schielzeth was recovered along with a photo.

A search warrant was executed at Schielzeths residence on December 17, 2008, and during an examination of Schielzeths computer, the same photo was located.

Seized as a result of the search warrant were computers and computer media, a cell phone, a digital camera, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia. Schielzeth was arrested and booked into the Dane County jail.

A copy of the criminal complaint is available at
