LAW ENFORCEMENT JOIN FORCES TO STOP HEROIN
Four Others Face Federal Drug Charges
PLEASANT PRAIRIE - Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen today announced arrests and drug seizures in a successful, multi-jurisdictional drug operation in Kenosha and Racine Counties. Racine and Kenosha County Sheriffs' Department, Waukesha MEGS, HIDTA and the Drug Enforcement Agency participated in the investigation and operations resulting in these arrests.
"We have worked hard and we have worked together to investigate and arrest drug traffickers. Heroin's threat is tragic and real. The results of this operation will save lives," Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen said. The Attorney General commended law enforcement including Department of Justice Agents.
Kenosha County Sheriff David G. Beth said, "I'm very pleased with the excellent outcome of this investigation. All of the officers involved did an outstanding job by taking these dangerous drugs and drug dealers off the streets".
Racine County Sheriff Robert D. Carlson echoed the Attorney General's concern for the threat posed by heroin in Southeast Wisconsin and the benefits of cooperative law enforcement efforts when he said, "Heroin is becoming an increasingly serious problem in Southeast Wisconsin. It is through excellent multi-jurisdictional efforts like this one that we can help to limit the spread of heroin in our area."
Oladelle Fagbulu, of Chicago, Illinois was arrested in Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin, with significant amounts of cocaine and heroin in his possession. He faces charges in federal court of conspiracy to distribute heroin and cocaine.
Also arrested were Carlos Hoffman, Pleasant Prairie; Mary Chillis, Kenosha; Mashica L. Spann, Kenosha; and, Katina M. Marshall, Kenosha. Each faces federal indictments for conspiracy to distribute heroin.
A significant amount of cash and four vehicles including a Cadillac Escalade and a GMC Denali were seized in this operation.
A defendant enjoys the presumption of innocence. The prosecution must prove its allegations at trial beyond a reasonable doubt.
