Schigur Matter to be Dismissed WERC Staff Recommends to Full Commission

Wednesday, September 30, 2009

MADISON - In response to media questions on the matter, Wisconsin Department of Justice spokesman Bill Cosh issued the following statement:

"In a proposed decision released by the Wisconsin Employment Relations Commission, allegations made by a Department of Justice employee, who had been serving a probationary period, that she was improperly terminated from that probation and returned to her previous civil service classification were recommended to be dismissed.

In a letter from the Commission dated and received by the DOJ yesterday, September 29, 2009, the Commission's hearing officer recommends the Commission find DOJ employee Ms. Joell Schigur failed to demonstrate the Commission had authority to hear the matter."
