Van Hollen Completes County Law Enforcement Roundtable Listening Sessions

Monday, September 28, 2009

APPLETON - Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen recently met with law enforcement leaders, elected officials, community leaders, judges, and public safety officials from throughout Outagamie County at a law enforcement roundtable hosted by State Senator Rob Cowles and Representative Penny Bernard Schaber.  The Outagamie Roundtable was the final in a statewide series of listening sessions.

Topics discussed at the roundtable included drug courts, OWI, the need for more Assistant District Attorneys and pay progression for Assistant District Attorneys.

"I would like to extend a thank you to Senator Cowles and Representative Bernard Schaber for participating in this successful roundtable.  I would also like to thank all of the attendees and taking part in the discussions.  Every county and community in Wisconsin faces different public safety challenges," said Van Hollen. "Having the opportunity to listen to local law enforcement, community leaders and elected officials from Outagamie County lends itself to a meaningful dialogue as to how the Department of Justice and state government can better assist Outagamie County."

"Protecting public safety is a priority of state government, and meetings like these help state government do a better job," said Van Hollen.
