Offense Severity Codes

Select the appropriate severity code for the offense if more than one exists for a listed violation, i.e. felony or misdemeanor.

Select the appropriate classification level for the felony, misdemeanor or non-criminal offense being charged.  On the actual fingperint card, only felony, misdemeanor or non-criminal needs to be indicated.  The classification level is to assist in selecting the proper statute that is being alledged.

Examples:

      FB is a class B felony

      FU is an unclassified felony

      MA is a class A misdemeanor

      ND is a class D forfeiture (Non-criminal)

Some of the offenses listed indicate a severity of "modifier".  These statutes modify the underlying offense charge.  A modifier cannot be the only offense alleged, it must be used in conjunction with another valid, chargeable offense.
